Mr JMB Hughes
A Headmaster who inspired students to greater heights. And earned the highest respect and love from them. Amazing but true.
That's Mr JMB Hughes, Extraordinaire.
Dr Chin Wah Seng
This blog has been set up to organise and prepare the proposed tribute to our dear old HM and his wife who recently passed away in March within a few days of each other. This tribute will come from the old boys and girls of the school who knew them and hope that we can include all your contributions and sentiments in the final write-up. Please send your views to me at tribute2hughes@gmail.com. Updates on the tribute will be posted as and when we receive them.

Dear Dr Chin. Your word is very thru even though I'm NOT in that batch that have the honour and priviledge to study in PFS during his tenure. I'm writing this from overseas since I've left Malaysia 25 years ago globe trotting with my profession.
On one of my projects (CONOCO, Aberdeen 1996) I met his son Hughes Junior for a meeting as both of us are geophysicist. During one of the conversations he did mentioned to me that he used to live in Malaysia then Penang then PFS compound which immediately triggered me to ask him is Mr. Hughes his father. The answer YES from him was followed by me giving him a strong but warm handshake in gratitude to the son of a man PFS will never forget and will never have the to see again.
I'm NOT being racist here BUT what's in these white folks (GOD created all Man equal) that anything they touched turn to flowers or more precise GOLD!
Sorry to have taken your time and again TQ for the beautiful tributes your batch have given him. As I'm migrating to South Africa (I stayed in Africa for the last 20 years Algeria, Angola, Gabon & Nigeria) as Malaysia I can never called HOME, I can be contacted on this email - amsar58@yahoo.com. TQ again and May God Bless you n familia.
